Originally from Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas Islands, Valentine moved to Tahiti at 15 to pursue her education.
Starting as an extra at the Tiki Bar, she climbed the ranks to become Assistant Bar Manager at InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa.
Passionate about nature and Marquesan culture, her motto, “Get up no matter what,” reflects her resilience and dedication.
Valentine Teikitohe
A native of the Marquesas Islands, Nuku Hiva to be exact, Valentine left her home island at the age of 15 to attend high school in Tahiti.
With a degree in Assistant management, and an IHG “Leading Others” certification under her belt, Valentine started as an extra at the Tiki Bar, then progressed to hostess, clerk and first bartender at the Lobby bar.
Today, she holds the position of Assistant Bar Manager, with her characteristic conscientiousness and discernment.
As an active woman, she loves to hike and doesn’t hesitate to put on her sneakers and walk to work. She’s very attached to the music and dance of her island, and whenever she can, she goes to Matava’a, the great cultural festival of the Marquesas.
Her passions reflect her love of nature and traditions, that help her stay connected to her roots.
Valentine loves working in a team; hers is like a second family with whom she is constantly learning. She appreciates the dynamism of her work environment, where there are always surprises, making each day unique and stimulating.
Valentine’s motto is a true lesson in resilience: “Get up no matter what.” This philosophy has guided her through life’s challenges, teaching her the importance of self-reliance and calling upon her inner strength to overcome obstacles.
