Surfers Paradise Cocktail: A Toast to the New Sydney Flight

To celebrate the launch of the new direct flight between Papeete and Sydney, InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa and Voco Gold Coast came together for a special cocktail collaboration inspired by our shared surf cultures. For the occasion, each hotel created a signature cocktail for the other. Our own bartenders imagined a Tahiti inspired creation called Teahupoo for Voco Gold Coast, while their team crafted Surfers Paradise especially for us.

Surfers Paradise: A Gold Coast Gift, Now Served in Tahiti

Surfers Paradise is a fizzy rum sour lifted with macadamia syrup and finger lime pearls, a playful nod to native Australian flavours. Its name pays homage to the Gold Coast, home to the boutique Voco hotel and its laid back, open to all philosophy. From Burleigh to Superbank, the coastline offers a seemingly endless run of point breaks, just steps from the beachside city centre.

Now poured at InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa, it brings a taste of that easygoing Australian spirit straight to the island.

Teahupoo: Tahiti’s Gift to the Gold Coast

In return, our bartenders crafted Teahupoo, our own Pacific Ocean take on the classic margarita, blended with Malibu and Curaçao for a bright, coastal profile. Its name honours the small village at the end of the road on the west coast of Tahiti Iti, the fish tail shaped tip of the island. It is here that big wave surfers travel from around the world to challenge the Hava’e pass, home to one of the most feared left hand barrels on the planet, breaking above a razor sharp reef.

This creation now welcomes guests at Voco Gold Coast, carrying a piece of Tahiti across the Pacific.
